A persistent pup came to his owner’s rescue after she was accidentally locked out of her house.
Kaylyn Marie found herself in a predicament when a wooden dowel used to secure the sliding glass door at her home in Orlando, Florida, fell into place while she was outside.
When she realized that she wouldn’t be able to slide the door back open and her roommates wouldn’t be back for hours, Kaylyn looked to her yellow lab named Sam.
A Snapchat video shows the determined dog pawing at the wooden rod as the University of Central Florida student desperately cheers him on.
Kaylyn Marie enlisted the help of her dog Sam when she found herself locked out of her apartment in Orlando, Florida. A video shows the yellow lab trying to remove the wooden dowel that had fallen into the door frame, blocking the door from sliding open
Sam ultimately manages to pop the rod out of the door frame, allowing Kaylyn to slide the door open. The triumphant pup excitedly throws his head around with the prized dowel in his mouth
The video that has since gone viral on social media shows Kaylyn tapping on the bottom of the door prompting Sam to paw at the rod.
‘Unlock it! Just pull the thing! Yeah just pull it,’ she says with excitement.
‘Good boy! Good boy you can do it!’
After a few seconds the dog gets bored and steps away from the dowel as Kaylyn says: ‘Oh no! you were so close!’
She turns the camera on herself and explains: ‘I just need him to take the wooden rod and get it out of there because it slipped back down.’
Sam soon renews his efforts and manages to pop the rod out of the door frame.
Kaylyn squeals as she opens the door and greets the triumphant pup who holds the rod in his mouth tossing his head in the air.
The video was posted to Facebook on June 9 and has been viewed more than seven million times.
