Keith first grew concerned when he learned that his wife had failed to pick up their two young children from day care earlier this month.

He then used an app to find his wife’s cell phone, which he discovered on the side of a road.

‘Knowing that she didn’t pick up our kids – there is no way that ever happens,’ Keith told ABC News at the time.

‘She could drop her phone, but she would never in a million years not pick up our children on a time that she normally would have.’

Keith later became a possible suspect in the case but was ruled out after passing a lie-detector test.

Sherri’s family had also been offering a random or reward to any person that helped return her safely home.

Rod Rodriguez, a man who identified himself as Sherri’s father-in-law, wrote on Facebook Tuesday; ‘Time is running short if you are the person holding Sherri Papini. The deadline given by the generous anonymous donor who has offered a ransom for Sherri and a’so hired the hostage negotiator is fast approaching.

‘You, Sherri’s abductor, should know that after this offer expires we, the family and friends of Sherri Papini, will refocus our efforts on to rewards for your APPREHENSION and CONVICTION.

‘The FBI, along with local law enforcement and private investigators which we have retained, as well as many volunteers, are very actively investigating this case and will continue to do so; you made mistakes and leads are being followed.’

A GoFundMe had raised $50,000 to bring her home.

On Thursday, before Sherri had been discovered, hundreds in the area released yellow ballons in her honor at their annual Turkey Trot road race.
