Snapchat may have established itself as one of the most widely used forms of social media – but that doesn’t mean everyone has quite caught up.
In an effort to bring them into the modern age, a young woman named Dena spent Thanksgiving introducing her grandparents to the app’s famous filters – with hilarious results.
A different look: A new video features a young woman named Dena introducing her grandparents to Snapchat filters
Trying them out: Dena’s grandfather doesn’t seem too impressed with the app as they try face swapping and fish filters
‘Oh my god!’ grandpa exclaims, placing his hand over his mouth to see if it makes any difference before the next snap sees the two morphed into a pair of clown fish.
‘So it just keeps going? It’s built in and no matter who is there, it just climbs on there? Climbs on to their face?’ he asks Dena, bewildered.
Next they try a disturbing filter that sees the face of the person on camera emerge from his or her own open mouth.
‘What the…’: Grandpa is certainly taken aback by this filter that makes his face emerge from his own mouth
A bit confused: Grandma is a bit more receptive to the filter fun, loving the face swapping
Grandpa appears to be horrified by the filter, exclaiming: ‘What the f-‘ before opening his mouth again to see his face disappear between his own teeth.
He seems to be equally disgusted by the face swap filter, which he sampled with Dena, asking at one point: ‘Do you pay for this crap?’
But then, Dena moves on to her grandmother, who seems to be much more receptive to the filter fun.
Upon seeing her face swapped with that of her granddaughter, she giggles and exclaims: ‘Oh my god! Wait a minute! That’s your face! That’s not my face!’
‘I just had some bad plastic surgery!’ The pinched, alien-eyed filter has a slightly different reaction from the older woman
All in fun: The last snap sees grandma cackling with glee as she looks at herself turned into an adorable deer
In the next snap, her face is morphed by the app into an alien-like pinch-nosed man with a beard, causing her to laugh: ‘Oh my god! I just had some bad plastic surgery!’
In the final snap, Dena and her grandmother are on the couch with the deer filter having been returned to the screen.
The older woman just can’t seem to handle her and Dena’s new look and she leans back in cackling laughter.
‘Look at me! Hoo-hoo-hoo! she giggles.
