A group of engineers have revolutionised the office favourite game of foosball – by adding electric drills.
Joe Fitzpatrick and the team at SGS Engineering, in Derby, grew tired of their normal and sluggish foosball matches.
So, inspired by the rapid movements of footballers such as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, they set about coming up with a game-changing idea.
After four hours of careful planning and waiting for the perfect time to smuggle the table away, Joe and his entourage began to attach drills to the handles.

The alteration immediately turned their previously lethargic match-ups into frenzied throw downs.
As if that wasn’t enough, following all their thirsty work, they also attached drinks holders to each end of the table.
Joe said: ‘It’s so much fun, the novelty certainly hasn’t worn off.’
A blog on the company’s website documented the process of creating the new game all the way to setting up it up in the office.

It read: ‘We knew that modifying the table would be no walk in the park.
‘Firstly, we had to calculate the measurements of the rods, choose the correct drill-bit with the right speed setting, to get it all to tick over nicely.
‘Once the table was ready and tested all that was left was to play some Power Drill Foosball.
‘It’s not the quietest sport but we felt that Power Drill Foosball is not something that should be hidden away in the canteen, so instead it took pride of place in the centre of the office (sorry about your conference call Dave!)’
