Four white 15-year-old Catholic schoolgirl have claimed they were racially targeted by a gang of young black men while riding a New York bus.
The victims say they were left with scratches and bruises after the attack.
The four were on their way home from school at St. Catharine’s Academy in the Pelham Gardens section of The Bronx around 3pm Tuesday when the incident occurred on the BX8 bus.
They claim it all started with one of the group saying: ‘Oh, white girl got money!’
Attack: Four 10th grade girls from St Catharine’s Academy were on the BX8 bus Tuesday afternoon when they claim they were attacked by a group of young black men and women
The girls told The New York Post that the men called up some of their girl friends, who boarded the bus a few stops ahead.
The 10th graders were in their uniforms at the time and said that, once the girls joined the men on the bus, they were attacked.
‘All I remember is seeing the bus doors open and these girls have me by the ankles,’ LT said.
‘One of the guys had me by my hair and punched me in the jaw.’
They said one of the girls said: ‘Oh, you go to St. Catharine’s? What, do you have money? Go drink your coffee, white girl, and go shopping.’
The female driver stopped the bus in the middle of the block upon realizing what was going on.
However, when she opened the door, the gang escaped with a backpack, which contained an iPad and some cash, one of the girls, identified by The Post only as LT, told the newspaper.

Scott Seskin, a lawyer representing the girls, said the bus driver did nothing to help them. Footage from inside the bus at the time of the attack has not been released.
‘I’m going to use whatever contacts I have to have this investigated as a hate crime because of the language that was used that started the whole thing off,’ Seskin told The Post.
The NYPD is now investigating the incident.
The girls were traveling to Throggs Neck, a Bronx neighbrohood by the East River, at the time of the attack.
